Home to the great migration of the yearly wilderbeest across the Mara River on the border of Kenya and Tanzania, the Masai Mara is one of the most gifted places in Africa with over 450 species of animals scattered along the plains. On this trip you are assured of a relaxing getaway and to see the 5 Five of Africa.
Following breakfast you will be picked up by your guide either at the airport or hotel and you will start your six hour journey to the reserve. You will have a stopover to enjoy hot lunch before arriving at your lodge. After check in and freshening up, set off for the first game drive. Get set to see alot of wildlife at the banks of the River Mara as they try to keep cool in the hot afternoon. You will get to see gazelles, wildebeest, zebras, hippos, elephants and the famous lions. After the game drive return to the lodge to enjoy the stunning sundowner over the African Plains.
Wake up for an early breakfast and prepare for a game drive. The mornings are quite cold and therefore please carry along a jacket which you can take off once the weather gets warmer. On the morning game drive you will see a variety of animals either coming from a hunt or finding a place to hide out the coming afternoon heat. You can either choose to carry along lunch boxes and have one continuous game drive with a lunch break or return to the lodge for lunch and then head back for another game drive. In the evening, enjoy a cultural tour of the Masai, a cattle keeping tribe living within and around the reserve. You will learn about their ways of dressing, dance, and folktales about how they protected their cattle from lions. If you are not interested in cultural tour, you can either enjoy biking or nature walks on scenic trails. Later return to the lodge to freshen up and await dinner.
Following early breakfast depart for another game drive around the reserve, later return to the lodge for early lunch and check out. You will thereafter travel to Nairobi where we will drop you at either your hotel or airport arriving in the afternoon or evening. This will mark the end of the tour.
